about

Missing link between The Cure, Bach and Aphex Twin, pianist Maxence Cyrin releases the "Novö Piano Live" EP on 09/01 with his mythical cover of The Pixies "Where is My Mind", already triple platinum disc (more than 150M streams) and covered on several pubs (FDJ, Narcisso Rodriguez, Apple, etc) and Netflix series (Mr Robot, The Leftovers,...).

Track by track

1 - Please Have A Seat (Maxence Cyrin)
It is a composition of Maxence, here in the minimalist style of Erik Satie, that he regularly
plays at the opening of his concerts.
2 - Disorder (Joy Division)
The unpublished "single" of this mini album is in the same line of arrangements as "Where Is
My Mind". "Disorder" was originally composed and performed by the iconic Joy Division postpunk
band.
3 - Behind The Wheel (Depeche Mode)
Already released in 2006, the major track of Depeche Mode released in 1987, is here reedited
in live version, which sublimates the melancholy melody of the original and the fragility of its
theme.
4 - No Cars Go (Arcade Fire)
Novo Piano Iive's classic, Maxence takes over here one of the strongest songs of the Canadian
group Arcade Fire. Successful synchronization, the version of Maxence illustrated the conference
of Apple on the iPhone 10 in September 2017, accompanied by the voice of Steve Jobs.
This version begins as a wink to Debussy's "Clair de Lune" to eventually turn into a romantic
melody with a rubato to fade Frédéric Chopin.
5 - Lithium (Nirvana)
Maxence transforms this generational title composed by the major group of 90's in quasi-Mozartian
variations, concluding on rhythmic vitamins Supertramp.
6 - Empty Church (Maxence Cyrin)
Second composition of Maxence Cyrin, fragile and minimalist, here in a more spiritual style,
recorded the Chapel of L'immaculée in Nantes in 2017. An introduction to his solo album to follow
in September 2018.
7 - Where Is My Mind? (The Pixies)
The sensational version of one of Pixies' greatest hits, which has been a huge international
success, has encouraged Maxence to deepen his re-reading of his favorite synth-pop or rock
songs, while allowing him to realize his dreams the craziest, to go around the world ... and
meet Franck Black!

8 Where Is My Mind? (The Pixies)Where Is My Mind? (The Pixies) - The Toxic Avenger rework. The french electronic producer The Toxic Avenger breathes new energy into this rework with one of the influences common to both artists, Trip Hop, with references to the title "Clubbed to Death" by Robert D. or to DJ Shadow's first album. The rework was created for the film "Sun and Concrete", which will premiere at the Berlinale 2023 at the end of February 2023.

Maxence Cyrin - Mini Bio - English
Slamming the door of the piano conservatory at sixteen to form a Cold Wave group, he was one of the prescribers of home studios in the mid-90s, releasing several techno EPs on Dutch or German labels. He signed his first covers in the 2000's on Laurent Garnier's label, F Com. Returning to piano and classical in the 2010s with the LP series Novö Piano, his cover of "Where Is My Mind" was successfully synchronized in the series Mr Robot and The Leftovers and then with the LP "Novö Piano Live" (Enchanté Records 2018) on several TV ads such as FDJ or Narcisso Rodriguez perfumes. He has just released two albums of Modern Classic compositions in 2020 and 2022, making him one of the most streamed French pianists (1M unique listeners on Spotify) and he is releasing his third album on Warner Classic in October 2023.
